Finding Joy in Fitness
The greatest moments of joy for me as a coach and trainer are when clients come to me after a few months or even sometimes weeks of training and report that they have noticed a significant change in the strength or stamina they feel in their daily lives. They may observe less pain, better balance, or greater, stronger range and power of movement.
These experiences fill me with pride for our work together, but also remind me of my own journey to strength and fitness.
As a busy mother of three, I remember when my kids were little, and I was struggling with significant pregnancy weight gain, stress, and fatigue. Little by little, I rediscovered my love of weight lifting, exercise, and the community feeling I got being a part of a gym. Over time my body changed a lot, and eventually I found my way into competitive body building. But the powerful, good feeling energy I get from fitness is as great of a reward as the fit body I've developed over time. I exercise because it feels good. And my hope for you is that, over time, regardless of your fitness level, exercise becomes a good feeling habit that stays with you, and enhances all aspects of your life experience.
I am a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council of Exercise. I'm also a Corrective Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, a USA Weightlifting Level Two Coach, and a Certified Sports Nutritionist through the International Society of Sports Nutrition.

Annelise got me back into fighting shape after 3 kids and a surgery. I began working with Annelise towards the beginning of Fall of 2019. In short…Annelise is an incredible trainer. When we began working together, she asked about my personal goals for signing up for training, and then designed our sessions in such a way to help me achieve those goals. Primary among my goals was to strengthen my lower back, as I have had chronic back pain for decades. It is still a very distinct memory for me that in January of 2020, I took my 5-year-old and 2-year-old to a bouncy house, and was able to carry them up and down the ‘scarier’ ladders with no problem at all. My 5-year-old even commented at how I was not worried about my back.
Annelise is personable, gracious, and funny. She is able to push you and make you work your hardest; she cheers you on when you complete a hard set, and is there to suggest slowing down if you are trying to overdo things. She has also taught me the importance of weightlifting, and lower body exercises for continued back strength. If you are looking for an incredible trainer, you can look no further than Annelise. I enthusiastically recommend her without reservation!
